  • So you are in the car and you are basically just trying to steer and stay on the right course. You're a good driver for the most part but every once in a while you have a little fenderbender or two. You avoid getting lost as much as you can but sometimes even the map doesn't appear to give you a clear direction. To me driving is a lot like life. Its not easy for everyone and it seems unfair( like always getting stuck at the light or never getting the parking stall. )Most of us try to make good choices, take the high road, and although we may make some mistakes along the way we do our best. Our map is the Bible. It can point us in the direction we need to go and let us know when there is a route we need to avoid to save ourselves a lot of wasted time and heartache. Sometimes we feel like the Bible is great..but do we really have to read it? Absolutely! If a driver knows the map will tell him which path he should choose but never glances at it, he will never get anywhere. Its the same with us if we don't take the time to look at the Bible and actually study it how will we reap the benefits? We have to read it and meditate on it and try are best to understand what it is that God wants to teach us and if we can learn how to do that we may just make it all the way to the end of the road.

  • Time ticking Away

I looked at the clock yet again. I was watching the hand slowly move around the clock. I was just watching the minuets go by, desperately wanting class to be over! Tic Tic Tic Tic  Another minuet gone....then another...how much longer for this torture to be over?  Have you ever felt like that? When you are wanting so bad to be anywhere but where you have to be and you feel like you are watching the worlds slowest clock? If you answered yes (and I know I have) here's a question for you: Are you living every moment to the fullest? Are you 'advancing the kingdom'? If you were to die today would you feel like you had lived a life you were proud of? I know that so often when we are watching the time tick away if is because we are somewhere that isn't really optional to attend or we are in a situation we don't like and most of the time its just unavoidable, but it a majority of your life is going through the motions and spending the entire time wishing it was over and you were somewhere else you miss so much! Today could be the day you lead somebody to Christ or you spend time talking to God not just filling up your minuets because you feel like you are supposed to.  Even if you are thinking well the only time I'm am not paying attention because I am watching the clock  is when I am at school, hello most of us spend a majority of our time there! You may not see school as a time to do anything productive but it is...and maybe that girl in you Lit class doesn't know Jesus yet. So my challenge to you is to really try to live every minuet to the fullest. You never know when you are going to be called home, Jesus died for us and because he did we get to live lives full of joy and happiness knowing we have been saved and we belong to an undescribable God who loves us. So stop wasting time! Give your all to God! I dare you.

  • While they were Watching

When you're famous I guess people watching your every move is kind of expected. When you're on the set, when you're shopping, when you're trying to hang out with your friends and family, or even when you go to Starbucks for that matter.People swarm you and take your picture and ask for your autograph and watch everything you do. It just sort    of comes with the territory. Its expected. That being said, think about it, its the exact same concept with being a Christian. When you're at work, with your family and friends, and even at Starbucks you are being watched. People may not be in your face taking pictures but they are watching how you act and treat others when your not just at church. You are a living testimony of  what a Christian is. Which could be a good thing or a bad thing. What are your actions saying about Christians- that they are people who love and honor God with their lives, like when you  hold the door open or lend a helping hand, because someone could see God's love shining through you and consiter how being a Christian could change their lives. Or are they seeing that being a Christian is just like everybody else and that your life is not at all changed. It is a tough burden to face, to feel like everywhere you go people are watching you and making judgements on what a Christian is, but then again Jesus Christ took on a much bigger burden and he did it gladly. So when you are with your friends at the mall or at Starbucks what are your actions telling people?

  • Tonight

I just got back from the Mark Schultz concert. It was so awesome. Afterwards we waited like an hour and a half for Mark to sign autographs so we all could get dessert with him, but since it took so long in the never ending line when he finally signed everything that people put in front of him it was already so late so we just hung out backstage, and he told hilarious stories, and this little girl who was like 5 told everyone he was her boyfriend. It was sooo cute!  It was really great.

    Prayer for a Friend

Do you know someone who is struggling in their life and you want to help them but you don't know how?

There are a lot of people I know in and out of my school that I care about and are struggling in one way or another. It has been on my heart the last week and I have been praying like crazy for a lot of different people all in totally different situations, needing the same answer, God.Then in class today we were discussing how sometimes we need to stop our friend from sinning and being like,"hey thats not okay", because we care about them. It hurts to see them in pain knowing that I need and want to do something for them to make it better and knowing that it is something that they have to do alone. Not entirely alone though, God is there. He is the one to make it better and I am seeing that the best thing I can do is let him be in charge. It is comforting to know that I can pray for them and I can ask God to help them, to help me have the right words, to know when it is my place to confornt them and say that it what there doing is wrong, and when to just be there to listen. It makes me feel better to know that God will help to decide and help them get the help that they need. I care about all of you and trust that God will begin working in your lives to give the peace and the support and help that you need. I will be here waiting until I am called.
